PGLA is a sterile, absorbable synthetic, multifilament surgical suture. The sutures coating material is poly(glycolide-co-lactide) and calcium stearate.The suture is divided into dyed (Violet) and undyed.

Product Details

The suture is indicated for use in soft tissue approximation and/or ligation but not for use incardiovascular tissue and neurological tissue. It does not apply to tissues that need permanent tensile support.  PGLA suture meets all the requirements of United States Pharmacopoeia(USP) and European Pharmacopoeia(EP)for absorbable surgical sutures.

Advantages

  •  PGLA Sutures have a high initial tensile strength. 75% of the original tensile strength is retained up to two weeks after surgery, 50% of the original tensile strength is retained at the end of three weeks post implantation.
  • In general, the suture is completely absorbed after about 56-70 days and the absorption of different tissues are
    slightly different.
